The club enjoys the patronage of quite a number of serving and
retired personnel, along with our general members, and so we have
some traditions, as well as social functions, that the club manages
to juggle well, to the benefit of all, throughout the year.
Anzac
Day
Anzac day is probably our most important and busiest day of the
year, starting at 0500 hours the club has a continuous supply
of hot food and full bar facilities... it is always a great day.
The club’s executive office holders lay a wreath at the Fremantle
dawn service along with other official organisations.
Annual Dinner/Dance
A semi-formal evening for the clubs members to dine and dance
the night away along with live music. It is always of a high standard
and very well supported.
Orphans
Xmas Dinner
Initially started to make sure our members who had no Christmas
arrangements could have a good family style dinner. It is now
so popular with that we may have to limit numbers, but we will
do our usual best to accommodate all.
Xmas Picnic
The club’s traditional beach/ barbecue Christmas picnic. It is
always a hugely popular and successful day. Transport, food and
drinks are all organised so it’s just enjoy, enjoy. Santa usually
arrives by something that hopefully, floats.
Cultural
Jazz Fremantle Inc provides regular performances in the Function Room (2nd Floor) on Sundays between 4pm and 7pm. These performances are 'Smoke Free' events. Current performances and costs are listed on our 'Events' page
Darts
The Navy Club Dart Club is open to all Navy Club members who are interested in playing darts. It operates under its own Constitution and its own Committee elected annualy at the Annual General Meeting.
During the winter months, we have ladies teams playing on Monday evenings in the Fremantle Districts Ladies Darts Association competition and on Wednesday evenings in the Fremantle and Districts Darts Association fixtures.
Through summer the Dart Club holds social Monday evening darts. This takes the format of weekly drawn mixed doubles playing against each other. The top three teams on the night recieve prizes, along with the highest score achieved for males and females, and the highest peg for each. A mystery peg is also drawn each night.
Teams also play in Inter Club Summer Competition on Wednesday evenings.
The Navy Club Dart Club also hosts a weekend of competition for both metropolitan and country teams. Known as the Navy Club challenge it is normally held on a long weekend.
You can contact the Dart Club Secretary through the Navy Club inc. e-mail address: navyclub@git.com.au
Tinny club
The
club holds what is commonly known as a "tinny club"
on the 2nd Saturday of every month. There is a entry fee which covers a large number of prizes and your drinks.
It lasts for an hour and is followed by a free sausage sandwich
for those needing a little ballast. It is all great fun and again
very popular.
Poolplayers
The club has a pool table which affords a group lot of fun and
is usually held on Friday afternoon/evenings.
